Colloidal Fouling

Symptoms of colloidal fouling include:

  • Visible particulates on the feed scroll end of the effected element
  • High pressure differentials across individual elements and stages, usually worse in the first stage
  • Membrane telescoping
  • Loss in rejection from abrasive foulants
